COOL STUFF

COOL STUFF!!

#1 My Tessie is coming!!!! She bought her plane tickets and is arriving March 14....staying a few days and we are going to play play play!!!!

#2 Hair Dye/Bleach...My mom helped me bleach my hair last night. I was hoping for a 1920's starlet, white-blonde but ended up with my normal hair just lightened a few shades lighter for an all around more blonde look with darker chunks (which is what I had before....dark and light chunks). But now I'm a sassier blonde. I warned Richie that my IQ would be dropping by about 60 points as soon as the chemicals were finished processing. I think I only achieved about a 20 IQ point loss. I'll have to try for a lighter blonde in a few weeks when the hair has recovered enough for some more processing. AND tomorrow I'm going to go get a trim so it will really look spiffy in all it's blonde glory.

#3 Mom's still here! We are having a really nice relaxed, fun visit. We've been doing a lot of resting though since she came down with a bug that she brought over from the west coast with her a few days into the trip. Then the girls got it. (I've been fighting it so haven't come down with a full blown case as yet. I've been taking lots of vitamins so I think I'm just a tad run down from it. The girls are coughing and their noses are little faucets that won't shut off. ) We took a drive yesterday after the meeting (richie was home with the girls) through Oxford and Norway and Paris and South Paris so mom could see all the pre-fab home building businesses (why are they all closed on Sundays?? that is so stupid) and then we joked about how we could tell people we had a girls road trip to Paris. I know, lame but very funny at the time. Hee hee

#4 SHOES (summer shoes are just around the corner. Got some spiffy sparkley shoes that are sitting waiting patiently to take a walk on my feet as soon as that pesky snow melts!)

Tuesday

Well, it's been a bit since I've posted here....My mom has been here visiting for about a week. So far, we've left the house together a whole ONE TIME because she caught a bug before she left home and has been sick sick sick! She's got this hacking cough and is all nasally (sp?). I have been taking tons of vitamins and making a point of not staying up too late (usually when Mom visits, she stays on California time and I end up staying up till 2 and 3am with her and then *I* end up on California time!!)

So far, so good. Except-- this morning I woke up with a sore throat and now i'm scared i'm gonna get the bug!YIKES!!!

I have an appointment today with my new homeopathic primary care physician. I haven't met him yet and he'll be my first male dr. (except for chiros). I have heard such good things about him though that i'm willing to make an exception.

I've been uploading pictures to snapfish this morning. I haven't had any pictures developed since October. Mia has grown SO MUCH since then. It's just crazy. So I have jillions of pictures to get caught up on. Whew!

Stephanie and Justin are going to try and visit soon. They are waiting on their tax return and hoping to find cheap tickets. My mom kept insisting that they get tickets on jetblue since it's so cheap and flies directly into Portland. EXCEPT, jetblue has been cancelling flights left and right over the past week and we're starting to wonder if anyone should be flying with them at all. Hmm....

Anyhooo.....more later!

Today I Am Blessed

TODAY I AM BLESSED BECAUSE.....

I am healthy enough to turn another year older.
My appendages all work just fine.
I have two beautiful, healthy daughters who are smart, affectionate, and love to laugh and smile.
I have a husband in good health who tries to serve Jehovah and take care of his family to the best of his ability.
My parents are both living and interested in seeing me thrive.
I am blessed with interesting siblings with sparkling personalities.
I have dear friends with whom I can share my thoughts and emotions in safety and trust and with whom will also trust me enough to do the same.
There are two cats that live in my house who chase away the mice.
We have plenty of food and there is oil in the furnace to heat the house.

I am blessed to know Jehovah and to have the privilege to introduce him to others.
I am blessed to know things like why bad things happen to good people and to not fear the future.
I have hobbies that add enjoyment to my life and the resources to indulge in them.
Our home has heat and running water and shelters us from the elements and also has space enough for the people I love to visit.
I have access to books and movies to spark my imagination.
I also have access to friends and family at long distances thru an internet connection.
I have access to health care, medications, and vitamins to help me be at my best.

I have clothes in such a variety that not only do I not fear the elements but I can also indulge my senses with colors and textures.

And last but not least, I have enough dark chocolate and coffee to last me until it's time to go grocery shopping again. *grin*

Doin' the Bathrobe Snuffle Shuffle

I worked on a couple of mixed media collages this weekend. (they are both uploaded to my 'feeling arty' site.) I've been down with the flu so kinda just shuffling around the house. I also started Mia's ABC book. I finished like 6 pages.

Tess, have you gotten your atc kit in the mail yet?

more US

Here's another clip of us (bella, mia and I) goofing around. Mia likes to wave to people and greet them by saying, "Hi Steve!". She says this to her dad, me, her sister, random strangers at the store....you get the idea.

Well, she sees herself on the computer and right near the end of this clip you can see her saying, " Hi Steve!" to herself.

Oh, and for those of you WITHOUT small children, she picked this up from watching Blue's Clues several times too many.

Fun time happy house

Tried out my chintzy little camera/microphone yesterday. I got it on clearance at Big Lots for a whopping ten bucks so I don't mind that it's a bit fuzzy. It's totally fun to use and I got to talk to my brother yesteday with it. I talked (and bella too) and he responded by typing. Sounds lame but it was a total blast!

Here's a little bit of our day yesterday:
